In Helsinki, at the European IAF-conference, I’ll host a workshop called “Us & Them, and after all we’re only ordinary men”. As I was searching for material, I found this clip, that also connects to my previous workshop, Syzygy. Here is the video clip.
Us & Them is the ultimate paradox of a group. A group is always us. It needs them to stay “us”. Them are not us. And at the same time, we’re only human, so they also belong to us. There is no “us” and “them”, only “us & them”. We are them, they are us. But than again, we wouldn;’t be us without they being them. It is from this distinction, the distinction between us and them, me and you, that we emerge.
